I learned that part of trusting requires waiting. When you trust you let go of doing something yourself. You must wait on the the one you trust to do the work. Waiting can be hard - we want action now. But we will never find rest as long as we are trying to move under our own power. When we wait, as David tells us in Psalm 62: 5-6, our strength and salvation comes:
Fod God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
So I will close this year with pictures I took yesterday on our trip to Cades Cove. They were taken at the end of the day, what photographers call the golden hour - the time right before night when we rest.
