I would never have seen such breathing beauty if I hadn't made the effort to leave comfortable. It is also kind of scary getting up when it is really dark. I think our relationship with Christ can sometimes be like this. Sometimes it is easier to seek comfort - to do things our way, to look after our own needs. But when we do we are missing so much of the beauty that comes with a relationship with Jesus. But like any discipline, the more you do it, the easier it is to do. The prayer of David in Psalm 86:11-12 is my prayer for developing the discipline to leave comfortable and trust Christ:
Teach me your way, Lord. that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.
