Knowing you, Jesus
Knowing you, there is no greater thing
You're my all, you're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you, Lord
Every time I sing this it just makes me smile. I don't know why, it just does.
Today in Sunday School we also talked about worship in our discussion of Calvin Miller's book, Into the Depths. He suggested that we have "how-to"-ed the Holy Spirit right out of our worship. We just seem to struggle with worship and expressing our love for Jesus in public and maybe even in private ways. I think it is hard for us to hit a balance between free, exuberant expression and disciplined, thoughtful quietness. Worship needs to be both of these things.
It also made me think about my photography. Sometimes I just see images that speak to me like the one I posted in the last blog. I know that to become a better photographer I must also study and be disciplined. It takes both things. And sometimes both are hard. I have started a 365 project on my Shuttefuly site.
Knowing you, Jesus,
Knowing you, there is no greater thing
You're my all, You're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you Lord.
