Easter has come and so has spring! The wildflowers are blooming in the mountains. The familiar places are green again. There is new life stirring.
This has been a very special weekend. My family was here for a baby shower for my daughter - there will soon be another new life in our family. I was surrounded by the love of my wonderful parents and sisters and my new family, Brian and Cheryl, who became family when my daughter married Matt.
This afternoon after all were gone back to their own home and I sit in the quiet of my sunroom and try to process and remember all the emotions of this weekend, these words from one of my favorite Psalms came to mind.
One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.
They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They will tell of the power of your awesome works and I will proclaim your great deeds.
They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. Psalm 147:4-7
I have seen these verses in my own life for I have celebrated God's abundant goodness and as my children now begin their own families I pray they will commend God's works to the next generation.
