Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice saying, "Look! God's dwelling place is no among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God." (Rev. 21:1-3)
The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass. (Rev. 21:21)
So on this day, this beautiful view that took my breath away, was my little glimpse of the new heaven and new earth that God promises.
Here are three more pictures I took that day - the golden hour is very fleeting and it changes very fast, but I am so grateful for the little glimpse God gave me. Without my camera and the gift of photography that he has given me I never would have noticed at all.
