After the gray and dark of winter comes spring with its promise of new life. Even after the devastation of the Gatlinburg fires, there are daffodils.
Last week after school one day, I took a quick drive to Roaring Fork. It was one of the few warm, sunny days that we have had recently. I wanted to see the what the park calls the Ogle cabin and we call Junglebrook. I got there a little before sunset. I had heard that it escaped the fire. It was like the fire came right to the cabin and then just stopped. While I was leaving, another photographer drove up and asked if I had seen any flowers. He said that was what he was looking for. He told me that he had seen some on the hill close to Twin Creeks where there was a pull off.
I got out my camera and my tripod and as the sun was sinking behind them I took some pictures. I thought about the promise we have in Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Just like the daffodils bring new life in the spring, we are also promised new life.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
May these pictures I took of the daffodils remind you of the new life that we are promised in Christ.
