Of course one thing that I really wanted to see was sunset and sunrise. We stayed at the Pisgah Inn at milemarker 408. It was a splurge for us since we usually camp rather then stay in motels, but it was wonderful to be able to see a sunset and sunrise over the mountains without having to be driving in the dark at one point.
We saw the sunset at the Cold Mountain overlook, elevation 4542 ft. And I saw the sunrise from our room and the rocking chairs in the lawn.
It was amazingly beautiful - full of color in the skies. As I was sitting in the rocking chairs for sunrise, I remembered a hymn with the words -" from the rising of the sun to the setting of the same." I couldn't remember any more of the hymn but the words were easy to find in the Psalms.
There are no other words, except the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 113:2-3
Let the name of the Lord be praised,
both now and forever more.
From the rising of the sun to the place where it set,
the name of the Lord be praised.
There were so many good ones that I am putting them in two slideshows. The first one is sunset and the last one is sunrise.
